MADE in Kilkenny Collective presents
“MADE by Design” – An exhibition of new work
Butler House, Patrick Street, Kilkenny City
The exhibition runs during the
Kilkenny Arts Festival: 7th – 16th of August 2015
Opening Reception: Friday 7th of August 5pm
Opening hours: 10am – 6pm daily
The Made by Design exhibition, running from 7th to the 16th of August in the Georgian setting of Butler House, will give you the chance to see imaginative and beautiful work by 22 skilled and well established craftspeople, all working in the city or county of Kilkenny. Few other exhibitions boast a display of so many different skilfully crafted materials, ranging from paper, wax and glass to precious metals, stone, clay.
Members of the MADE in Kilkenny Collective have designed and created unique pieces and ranges – exquisite new works forming collections of inspirational `centre pieces` and corresponding smaller works.
The exhibition is a response to and celebration of the YEAR of IRISH DESIGN 2015 programme.
Every day during the exhibition there will be a craft artist present; happy to explain ideas, processes and give you an insight into the way they created and designed their works.
Made in Kilkenny was formed in early 2009, and was set up to foster excellence in crafts in County Kilkenny, to encourage the growth of the professional craft industry and to promote the county as a shopping destination for authentic, local handmade craft in Ireland.
